A psychoanalytic lecture series in 5 parts

During the spring of 2026 Aning – Association for Philosophy and Psychoanalysis will present 5 lectures loosely knit together with the topic of “Truth and knowledge”. We will discuss the clitoris, truth in art, the psychoanalytical ethic of honesty, masochism, truth that disrupts knowledge and much more.
All lectures will be in English, are free of charge and will take place at Anti Bookstore (Stora Nygatan 18, Malmö) between 18.00 and 20.00. To guarantee a seat you will have to be there some time before it starts.

Clitoris’ Saga – Rise, Triumph, and Decline of the Clitoris
Sergio Benvenuto is an italian psychoanalyst, philosopher and author. He is prof. emeritus at the International Institute of Depth Psychology in Kiev, President of Institute Elvio Fachinelli in Rome, founder of the European Journal of Psychoanalysis, editor for American Imago and teacher at Institute Pulsion in New York. Benvenuto has been a researcher at Institute of Cognitive Technologies and Sciences of the National Research Council in Rome. He has published widely on the topics of psychoanalysis, social psychology, political philosophy and the philosophy of science.

Truth and Psychoanalysis – The Poetry, Art and Science of Psychoanalysis in Bion’s O
Annie Reiner is an american psychoanalyst and training analyst at The Psychoanalytic Center Of California. She works in private practice in Beverly Hills. Reiner have a Ph.D and a Psy.D in psychoanalysis. Her psychoanalytic writings have been published in various journals and anthologies. Much of her works explores and expands the theories of Wilfred Bion, with whom she studied in the mid 70´s. Reiner is also a playwright, poet and painter.

Truth or Knowledge – psychoanalytic point of view
Judith Mitrani has a Ph.D. in Philosophy in Psychology. She was for nearly four decades a training and supervising analyst at the Psychoanalytic Center of California in Los Angeles and was honored with emeritus status after her retirement in 2015. Mitrani has written extensively about both clinical and theoretical issues in international peer-reviewed journals, anthologies and books. She has been translated into at least nine languages and received multiple awards for her teaching and writings. Mitrani was the founding Chair of the Frances Tustin Memorial Trust from 1995 until 2018 and continue to serve on the Board of Trustees

The psychoanalyic ethic of honesty – Implications for self-defeating patients
Nancy McWilliams is Visiting Professor Emerita at Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Applied & Professional Psychology and has a private practice in Lambertville, New Jersey. She is a former president of the Division of Psychoanalysis (39) of the American Psychological Association and is on the editorial board of Psychoanalytic Psychology. McWilliams is on the Board of Trustees of the Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge and an honorary member of the American Psychoanalytic Association, the Institute for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy of Turin, Italy, and the Warsaw Scientific Association for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. She has written extensively on topics such as psychoanalytic psychotherapy, the relationship between diagnosis and treatment, integration of feminist theory and psychoanalytic knowledge and much more. McWilliams is Associate Editor of the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual . She have received multiple awards for her writings and have been translated into twenty languages.

Is Psychoanalysis a Truth-Procedure?
Lorenzo Chiesa is a philosopher who was educated in Canada (International Baccalaureate, UWC Lester B. Pearson College, Victoria, British Columbia), Italy (MA-BA, University of Trieste), and the UK (PhD, University of Warwick). He was previously Professor of Modern European Thought at the University of Kent, where he founded and directed the Centre for Critical Thought. Chiesa has held visiting positions at multiple institutions in Europe, the US, and Asia. He is presently a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at Newcastle University (UK), where he is also serving as co-convenor of the Faculty Research Group in Critical Theory and Practice. Chiesa has published and taught extensively on psychoanalysis, philosophy of religion, French and Italian theory, biopolitics, and Marxism.
